The Society was founded in 1953 with a humble beginning at the foothills of Batu Caves. It has completed more then 50 years of spiritual and selfless service in dissemination of Gurudev Swami Sivananda's gospel of divine life to the peoples of Malaysia. Gurudev Swami Sivananda, the founder of the Society, and his

successor H.H.Pujya Swami Chidanandaji Maharaj guided and inspired the work of the Malaysian Society. The Society is very grateful and thankful to the World President Pujya Swami Chidanandaji for his particular interest in the work of the divine life movement in Malaysia and his advice and guidance in enabling the Society to strictly follow the spiritual philosophy and doctrine of the past. To-date, the divine life movement in Malaysia has 20 sub-branches with members and devotees from all walks of life both in the rural and urban areas of Malaysia.
